Minimum Academic Requirement for Membership:
A recognized Master degree or above in Nuclear Medicine; OR
A recognized Bachelor degree in medical imaging or related fields or Professional Diploma in Diagnostic Radiography (PDDR) of the Hong Kong Polytechnic University or equivalent, plus a Nuclear Medicine specialist qualification recognized by the College; OR
A recognized Bachelor degree in medical imaging or related fields or Professional Diploma in Diagnostic Radiography (PDDR) of the Hong Kong Polytechnic University or equivalent, plus attained a grade of 75% or above in an examination set by the Nuclear Medicine Faculty of HKCRRT.
Clinical Requirements (member):
Cases or duration requirements:- 400 NM examinations within 2 years; (Remarks: a maximum of three years is accepted for individual category exam count)
Competency requirements:- Supervisor acknowledgement on clinical experience on the following:
- Not less than 100 examinations on skeletal & infection imaging
- Not less than 100 examinations on cardiac imaging
- Not less than 50 examinations on renal imaging
- Not less than 50 examinations on endocrine imaging
- Not less than 100 PET examinations
including 30 named NM examinations including pediatrics, brain perfusion, sentinel node, etc.
Clinical Requirements (fellow):
Cases or duration requirements:- 3-year full time equivalent post-specialisation clinical experience in NM
Competency requirements:- The applicant should produce the supporting document(s) of his/her working experience e.g. full resume of working experience, recommendation from his/her superiors
Continuing Professional Development (CPD):
To remain current with the fellowship accredited, the NM specialists must accrue at least 45 CPD credits in 3 years, of which 15 credits are relevant to NM.
